Fred Losani
Fred Losani’s journey in homebuilding began at an early age, when the entire family pitched in on job sites, sweeping houses, hauling materials, and doing whatever it took to keep the business moving forward. Those formative years instilled in him a deep respect for hard work and the resilience required to build something lasting.
After graduating from Brock University, Fred officially joined Losani Homes in 1985. While Giovanni and Lino provided unmatched construction expertise, Fred recognized that the company’s future depended on securing and developing land. With determination and a sharp instinct for strategy, he immersed himself in the complexities of land acquisition, planning, and development, areas that would become central to the company’s growth.
Fred’s focus on land development soon became the perfect complement to his father and brother’s craftsmanship. Together, their combined strengths transformed Losani Homes from a small, family-run builder into one of Ontario’s most respected homebuilding companies. Under Fred’s leadership, the business diversified beyond low-rise housing into mid-rise and high-rise communities, commercial developments, property management, and capital management, establishing Losani Homes as one of Canada’s most innovative and trusted real estate organizations.
Today, as CEO and Chairman of the Board, Fred leads Losani Homes with a focus on long-term vision, innovation, and sustainable growth. Equally recognized for his philanthropy, he has championed initiatives that have raised millions of dollars for children’s charities and global causes. Through his adventurous fundraising expeditions and the establishment of the Losani Family Foundation, Fred has expanded the company’s impact far beyond homebuilding, creating opportunities, fostering hope, and strengthening communities both locally and abroad.
As Losani Homes celebrates nearly 50 years, Fred’s leadership continues to carry forward the values instilled by his father, integrity, craftsmanship, and community, ensuring they remain at the heart of everything the company builds.
Building Community Through Action
In 2013, Fred co-founded the Losani Family Foundation, which has channeled more than $1.5 million toward causes like food security, women’s shelters, youth wellness, and international aid. Fred’s adventurous spirit fuels his charity efforts—he’s completed North Pole and South Pole expeditions and led a 855 km trek of the Bruce Trail to raise awareness and funds, earning multiple environmental honors along the way. Awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (Civil Division) by the Governor General of Canada in 2017 for outstanding civic and charitable contributions. He also received the 2017 Gold Award for Building Community Spirit at the National Association of Home Builders gala—reflecting his unwavering dedication to enriching communities.
